History:
Launched in 2017, the Italian MSC Meraviglia Cruise Ship is the lead ship of the Meraviglia class and was one of the largest cruise ships in the world at the time of its debut. Built at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, MSC Meraviglia measures 315 meters in length and can carry up to 5,700 passengers. Its name, “Meraviglia,” translates to “wonder” in Italian — a fitting title for a ship that offers a wide range of innovative amenities and immersive experiences.
A central feature of the ship is the Galleria Meraviglia, an indoor promenade with the longest LED sky dome at sea, stretching 80 meters. The ship is also known for its exclusive Cirque du Soleil at Sea performances (available until 2020), luxurious accommodations, an extensive water park, a Formula 1 simulator, and a 4D cinema. MSC Meraviglia introduced wearable technology for guests, enabling easy access to their cabins, payments, and personalized services through smart wristbands. The ship has received praise for blending traditional European elegance with modern technology, making it a standout vessel in MSC Cruises’ growing fleet. Today, it sails to destinations across North America, the Caribbean, and Europe.
